Day 11: Short Run

Woke up this morning with a cough and made a doctor's appointment -- but went to the gym anyway. In the Army, they always told us that if you weren't running a fever or puking (and sometimes, even if you were!) that you could run. Clearly, they were sadists, but I did learn that sometimes it makes you feel better afterward. Today was one of those days, thankfully! I'd also like to say, Thank God for Antibiotics!

1 hr. Cardio Kickboxing
30 min. Ab Class (oooooooooouch!)
.5 walk
2 run (19:07)
.5 walk
s-t-r-e-t-c-h

What with all the phlegm (mmmmm), I think I'll skip the pool tomorrow for crosstraining. I haven't been on the bike in a while -- maybe I'll try that.

My boss always says that working out while you're sick & raising your body temperature will help kill any viruses you may have. He prefaces this statement with a reminder that he's a doctor. Unfortunately I think his theory has been debunked, but I'm definitely susceptible to the placebo effect--working out while sick makes me feel better 95% of the time. Cardio kickboxing sounds like torture though!

I'm not going to lie, I sweat like a pig and by the end, my kicks weren't very high or enthusiastic. They worked our outer thigh today and we did tons of squats with weightbars -- OMG I thought I'd die! My run this afternoon was torture after that!
