Day 19: 6-mile run

Hills, hills and more hills. I just added on to my route from last week, and there was a KILLER hill I wasn't expecting. But I made it and felt pretty good, even though it's cold and raining. I worked pretty hard, but around mile 4, I really got into a good groove. Next week is 8 miles. Ugh.

I think it may be time for new shoes because I got a weird ouchie on the inside of my right shin/ankle. I ran through it and it's fine now... I think it's the shoes. Oh, and as I got in sight of my house (.5 mile), I was greeted by a waft of distinctly bovine odor. And the cows stared at me like I was the problem. Yeah. "Hey! Welcome home. Here's a little extra methane for ya!" Stinky cows.

P.S. The echo came out clean except for one little insignificant thing. Bloodwork is all perfect and I'm apparently the picture of health -- now, if someone could just tell my BODY that, we'd be in business.

Thanks, Rachel. He made it to Afghanistan... the next leg is on to the border with Pakistan. I think he'll travel on Friday. I really appreciate you asking about him.

Hey Erin! I got your card! The 131 sticker is awesome! Thanks -- it's an extra motivating tool! Glad that you have a clean bill of health! Watch that knee.
