Yesterday for my strength, flexibility and/or walk day I played an hour and a half of tennis. I hadn't played in almost 6 months I think--and yow! Today I was totally sore, my sides and left arm in particular. But, what was awesome was that my arm felt a lot stronger and my swings felt a lot more powerful than they did even 6 months ago. I hit some sweet shots and made Dave run all over the court :) This summer I'm planning to take an "Advanced Beginning Tennis" class with my same instructor from last summer; I have a lot of fun playing right now but really need some work with body positioning, etc. Anyway--I'm really looking forward to it--though tennis classes from 11:00-1:00 in Sacramento in August can be pretty stinking brutal!
Today was just the usual 1-to-3-mile Monday. I warmed up on the elliptical for 15 minutes and then ran 3 miles on the treadmill--again forgetting to watch the time, but I think it was around 28:00. Then I walked half a mile to cool down and did my regular strength circuit and stretches. I also just walked around a whole bunch today for other stuff--phew. I'm totally exhausted...I'm going to get my second bit of stretching and situps out of the way and then go enjoy the long-awaited premiere of The Hills! oh yeah! Tomorrow is an off day but I'll probably go for at least a short walk or run with the pup. The weather is too beautiful to not take advantage of.
