Training Day 3

Even though I've been working out pretty religiously for about 3 years now, sometimes I'm still surprised by how excited I am about exercise. I never would have thought I'd become such a crazy fitness lover--or a marathon runner!--but I actually find myself wanting to exercise more and more often, rather than burning out and finding excuses to skip workouts. I guess in a way exercising satisfies my constant desire to compete; I chase running milestones or newfound muscles the way I chase A-pluses. Because, holy cow--the feeling of success is SWEET!

Today was a pretty normal workout for me, since we're still in our first week of training:

Stretch
Warm-up: Jump rope--5 sets of 100
Run: 2 miles at 1.5 incline--19:00
Cool down: 1 mile walk at 5 incline--15:00
Strength training--about 30 minutes on a circuit of 8 machines
150 situps
Stretch

Tomorrow is an off day per the schedule, but I usually run a mile before school just to wake myself up, so at this point I'm planning to keep doing that every week. Maybe I'll feel differently once we get into double-digit runs, though :)

Here's to a great week!
