Training Day 12: Better Booty and a Farmer Tan

I was feeling ambitious or maybe I was tired of my same old running route. I decided to do some hill work today. I ran up and down hills for the entire 2 mile distance. The neighborhood gardeners probably thought I had two left feet because I was running around in circles. I highly recommend hill workouts because the Nike Half Marathon Course has a couple loooooong hills. I think one of the hills is a mile long. Plus, running up and down hills is good for the booty. That's a fact! More hills = better booty. I think it will be good for building endurance too -- my endurance currently sucks. After the run, I did all of my stretches and jumped into the shower. While in the shower, I looked down at my legs and recoiled in horror as I caught sight of my frightening farmer's tan. It looks like I'm wearing white shorts - even though I'm not any wearing shorts! Gah! The farmer's tan is extremely inconvenient if you live in San Diego because as much as it sucks, the uniform of the San Diego resident is a bathing suit. I'm dreading the day when I have to head out to the beach this summer, take off my shorts, only to reveal a 2nd pair of pasty skin shorts. Shield your eyes! I guess I'll have to invest in a self tanner or in one of those full body bathing suits from the 1920's. Although, now that I'm thinking about it, perhaps the farmer's tan will draw the eye away from my pot belly. On second thought, maybe I'll further cultivate my farmer's tan. Ha!
