Day 36: 2+3

Just a few months ago I would have been pretty daunted by a 2-mile run like whoa, but yesterday I welcomed it as a nice easy break from the 4- and 5-milers. My ipod died after one mile, so I ran one more and then went and got the pup and walked one mile, and then decided I'd walk the other two at the gym on Sunday. My new shoes felt good, but my right hip and left calf still hurt, and I'm kind of worried about the hip in particular--I feel like the bones are rubbing against each other or something when I walk. I've got to find somewhere better than the sidewalk for my outdoor runs; until I can figure out a solution I think I'm just going to stick to the treadmill, since I never had any pain aside from regular soreness when I was running exclusively on the treadmill. Hopefully I'll find a good grassy or sandy route for next Saturday's 6-miler! :)
