Scheduled workout for Tuesday: yoga
Actual workout on Tuesday: cleaned out my desk drawers; read a book

Scheduled workout for Wednesday: 4-mile run
Actual workout on Wednesday: 4-mile run! yeah! I was not feeling well at all before this run and went to the gym planning to walk the whole thing. Once I got there I figured I'd just start out running and see how far I could go; being the contrary person that I am, the total lack of pressure to run resulted in a perverse boost of confidence and the smoothest run I'd had in a while. I listened to Fleetwood Mac and watched Olympic Men's Volleyball while I ran. The volleyball was pretty entertaining. The team invariably gathers for a huddle/group butt-pat/squeeze after every point. I know the women's team doesn't do this--a round of high-fives seems to suffice for them. But for the men it's apparently an integral part of the action. Honestly I think if I'd done a second-by-second breakdown of the match, there would have been more seconds of huddling and butt squeezing aired than actual game play. At one point two of the dudes even appeared to be executing an elaborate waltz. In the end, the U.S. team lost. Too many butt pats? Too few???
