Amazingly, I didn't suffer for days after last week's 10-miler, as I did last time around. My only issue has been that my right hip feels a little sore--I only really notice it if I sleep on it for too long. I'm going to try some Icy/Hot and some hot baths. Otherwise, feeling good! Here's what I did last week:
Monday: 4-mile run, a few weight machines
Tuesday: um...nothing? Oh--I think I stretched my legs and hips for about 5 minutes.
Wednesday: 4-mile run, 1/2-mile walk; went for another walk later with a friend
Thursday: about 35 minutes on the elliptical while reading Hamlet. I was feeling VERY lazy. Went for another walk later in the afternoon, though.
Friday: this was an optional 3-mile run day, but I went for it anyway. However, I only ran about 1 of the 3 miles, and walked 1.5. I don't remember what the issue was. Just feeling tired/heavy overall? I did hit the weights afterwards, though.
Saturday: 15-minute warm-up on the elliptical, 4-mile run, 1-mile walk.
Still working on perfecting my playlist in case we're allowed to wear our ipods during the marathon. Right now, Jimmy Eat World's "Middle" and Phil Collins's "Don't Lose my Number" are totally working for me. "Middle" is basically my perfect running song--the beat is exactly right.
Welcome back to the blog, (non-) Running Girl!!! :)
